Outreach & Events

Outreach and dialogue with the broader public are a key part of ETH4D’s work. Through events and engagement activities, we support the dissemination of research and foster dialogue on global sustainable development and humanitarian action with practitioners and society at large.

ETH4D’s outreach raises awareness of development and humanitarian challenges and technological solutions, connects research with key stakeholders, and strengthens the visibility of ETH’s expertise and global impact.

In 2025, we hosted the ETH Latsis Symposium "Science for Global Development and Humanitarian Action", bringing together more than 300 researchers, practitioners and policymakers to discuss how science can contribute to advancing global development and humanitarian action.

ETH4D offers around one event per month for students, researchers and the wider public, such as public talks and panels, career events, and pitching competitions. We also add global perspectives to ETH's public science events, such as Scientifica and wow2.
