ETH Social Impact Pioneer Fellows

Dr. Grace Kagho, founder of UrbanEcho, is developing a digital twin of cities to improve urban planning in low-income countries. Inspired by her experiences with Lagos' unpredictable transport system, she pursued research at ETH Zurich, where she simulated mobility patterns for the first time. Recognizing the need for localized, data-driven models, she founded urbanEcho to develop digital replicas of cities that mirror their infrastructure, transport networks, housing, and urban facilities as well as the population’s travel behaviour. Supported by ETH’s Social Impact Pioneer Fellowship, UrbanEcho aims to help urban planners, policymakers, and humanitarian organizations optimize city development for future generations.
