Open call for ETH4D Exchange Grants

Apply for our ETH4D Exchange Grants, for ETH faculty members to either travel to lower income countries for lectures, courses and collaboration meetings or to bring partners from institutions in lower income countries for a research stay or a workshop/conferene. Application deadline: 30 November 2019.

The ETH4D Exchange Grants aims to foster collaborations with partner institutions in lower income countries by offering the following grants:

  • Visiting Scientist Grant: To invite colleagues from the Global South* to visit ETH Zurich for a research stay or to attend a conference or workshop. Grant sum: max. 10’000 CHF.
  • Teaching Stay Grant: To support teaching activities of ETH scientists or ETH emeriti at partner institutions in developing countries. Grant sum: max. 5'000 CHF.

*Collaborating institutions have to be based in countries listed under the categories "Least Developed Countries" and "Lower Middle Income Countries" according to the external pageOECD/DAC list 2018-2020.


Only ETH Zurich faculty (professors, senior scientists and postdocs) are eligible to apply for the ETH4D Exchange Grants. Retired Professors are eligible to apply for the teaching stay grants only.
