Apply to Pitch: Building a Sustainable Future

Teams or individuals will pitch their idea or projects in 3 minutes to an audience and an expert jury. The jury will select the project with the biggest potential impact, the audience will vote for the best pitch. The jury winner will win CHF 1'500 and the audience winner CHF 500!

Conditions of Participation

• at least one member of the team needs to be a 3^rd year student of the joint Ashesi-ETH Master’s in Mechatronics Engineering or a student at ETH Zurich
• the idea/project needs to be early stage. Ideas/projects with a focus on lower-​​income countries are given preference
• the idea or project needs to have a clear sustainability and/or social impact element
• selected pitchers will attend a mandatory pitch training on: Monday, 10^th of November, 16:00-17:30 at the Student Project House. This is a crucial preparation for your pitch. Please only apply if you are available to attend the pitch training in person. 

To apply you need to upload the following in the form below:

• a power point with 6 slides presenting yourself/the team, your innovation, the problem addressed, which SDGs are targeted, the project's potential impact, and the timeline of the project. You are required to use Download this template (PPTX, 299 KB) for your application. Please describe the project sufficiently on the slides so that no further information is necessary.

Application Deadline: 30 June 2025. You will be informed of the decision in July. 

The ideas and projects will be assessed based on the following criteria: 

• relevance
• feasibility
• potential impact
• team strength & diversity
